DCUO first patch goes live!
Players have been anxiously awaiting the promised monthly patch from DC Universe Online, and tomorrow it will be here. Sony Online Entertainment has released DCUO's complete patch notes on the game forums, and boy, do they have a lot to say. At a glance, it appears that every power set and weapon type has been adjusted, but that's not the reason most people want to read through these notes.
The very top of the notes displays the new content we can expect to find when we log in Tuesday morning. The Dark Knight opens the Batcave for an eight-man raid; Catwoman leads heroes and villains on a chase across the rooftops of Gotham; and Aphrodite needs super-powered humans to help her resolve the battle between devotion and scorn. However, the change most anticipated by players has to be in the social and chat systems. Although most of the UI changes are a bit vague -- "Improved the layout of Voice Chat options on the Social UI" -- certain items like "Pressing '/' (forward slash) on the keyboard will now open quick chat mode and automatically add a slash to the text field" may be specific enough to satisfy players.

DC Universe Online lets you fulfil your destiny as a hero or villain, fighting side-by-side with legends like Superman or The Joker. In this alternate version of the DC comic book universe, Lex Luthor has travelled back from a future in which all heroes and villains have been destroyed by the villain Brainiac. With him, Luthor has bought a swarm of Exobytes - nanotech devices capable of giving superhuman powers to ordinary people. Armed with this new army of superhumans, the Earth might just stand a chance against Brainiac's onslaught.Monday, February 14, 2011
Exclusive Theme Park for WoW and Starcraft
Reports have begun to spread that a new theme park is being developed for China called JoyLand. But since there is no photos of actual construction, I’m a bit skeptical about the whole project. According to the official website, the new park will feature lavish World of Warcraft and StarCraft themed areas, and that the park is planning to open in May 2011. At this point in time there should be a lot of photos of construction, something I couldn’t find anywhere online. And why wouldn’t Blizzard have mentioned this licensing opportunity at one of their past Blizzcon gaming conventions?

World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft
Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), as defined today, have only existed since the early 1990s. World of Warcraft (commonly known as WoW) is a MMORPG in which a large number of players interact with one another in a virtual world. As in all Role Playing Games (RPGs), players assume the role of a fictional Character and take control over many of that character’s actions. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player CRPGs (Computer Role Playing Games) by the number of players and by the game’s persistent World (persistent player world or virtual world-used as a setting for a role playing game), usually hosted by the game’s publisher, which continues to exist and evolve while the player is away from the game. The persistent player world is always available and world events happen continually.Thursday, February 3, 2011
